So, you’re ready to document your journey. You’re pumped up, motivated, and about to hit record. But then it hits you…

“What the hell am I supposed to post?”

You’re not going to like this answer, but I’m going to say it anyway:

👉 Post 100 times.

Yes, 100 posts. Before you worry about “strategy” or “perfecting” your content, you need to develop the skills, build confidence, and figure out what actually works.

Right now, let’s be real:

  • You have zero skills.
  • Your Instagram sucks.
  • You have no respect, no trust, and no real experience.

And that’s okay. That’s why you’re here.

The 100-post rule isn’t about getting famous overnight. It’s about learning through doing.

Let’s break it down.

1. Why You Have to Post 100 Times (No Matter What Anyone Says)

If there was a guaranteed formula for content that works, people wouldn’t be selling courses for thousands of dollars.

The truth is, nobody can tell you exactly what will work for YOU.

Why? Because creating content is personal. Your personality, your voice, your style—these things develop over time.

By posting 100 times, you will:
Find your style (what feels natural to you)
Develop real skills (shooting, editing, scripting, storytelling)
Go from consumer to producer (you’ll stop mindlessly scrolling and start thinking like a creator)
Figure out what works (what content gets engagement, views, and responses)

2. How to Find Content Ideas (Without Overthinking It)

Step 1: Study What’s Already Working

  • Go to Instagram Search and type in hashtags relevant to your niche.
  • Example: If you’re documenting weight loss, search for:
    • #BodyTransformation
    • #WeightLossJourney
    • #FitnessMotivation
  • Look at the top-performing videos in your niche.
  • Bookmark the ones you actually like and feel you could recreate in your own way.

Step 2: Identify Video Styles

You’ll start seeing patterns in successful content:
✅ Motivational quotes over a video montage
✅ “Day in the life” vlogs
✅ Time-lapse transformations
✅ No-talking “cinematic” clips with captions
✅ Straight-to-camera advice videos

You don’t need to reinvent the wheel. Just find a format that works and make it yours.

Step 3: Replicate & Experiment

Try out different formats. Literally copy the structure of what’s working, but use your own story, personality, and experience to make it unique.

  • Watch a video → Break down what makes it work → Try it yourself.
  • Post it. See what happens. Adjust. Repeat.

This is how you learn by doing.

3. The Secret Weapon: Mastering Your Hooks

A bad hook = nobody watches your video. Period.

People are scrolling fast. You have 1-3 seconds to stop them.

Examples of Strong Hooks:

🔥 Day 73 of my 75 Hard Challenge—This almost made me quit.
🔥 I just went bankrupt—here’s what I learned.
🔥 How I lost 100 lbs and kept it off.
🔥 My wife just left me. This is what happened next.
🔥 I made $0 in my business for 6 months—here’s why.

See the difference? These hooks create curiosity, tension, and drama.

Bad Hooks That Won’t Work:

🚫 “Hey guys, today I want to talk about…” (boring)
🚫 “In today’s video, we’re going to go over…” (too slow)
🚫 “Let’s talk about my weight loss journey.” (no intrigue)

Fix: Start with the most interesting, shocking, or emotional part FIRST.

4. The Content Formula: Hook → Body → Call to Action

Once you hook them in, the body of your video should:
Reinforce your hook (don’t go off-topic)
Deliver your value FAST (no fluff)
Keep them engaged with energy & pacing

Example Structure:

📌 Hook: “I just lost $4 million in the stock market.”
📌 Body:

  • “I went all in on this one stock…”
  • “At first, I thought I was a genius.”
  • “Then everything crashed.”
  • “Here’s what I learned so you don’t make the same mistake.”
    📌 Call to Action:
  • “Follow me to see what happens next.”
  • “Like this if you believe in second chances.”
  • “Comment if you’ve ever taken a big financial risk.”

Your CTA (call to action) should be SIMPLE. If you’re just starting out, don’t expect people to leave a long comment. Make it easy.

🚀 “Follow me to see tomorrow’s update.”
🚀 “Like this if you think I can do it.”
🚀 “Comment ‘YES’ if you relate.”

That’s all you need.

5. Common Mistakes & How to Avoid Them

Mistake #1: Over-Explaining & Talking Too Much

🚫 “Hey guys, so today I woke up, had coffee, brushed my teeth, and then I thought about…”
Fix: Get straight to the point.

🚀 “I woke up late and missed my bus. Time management is ruining my progress.”

Mistake #2: No Hook (Golden Turd Syndrome)

A “golden turd” is when you overproduce a video that has no substance.

🚫 Fancy graphics, cool animations, flashy text—but no real message.
Fix: The message is king. Focus on clarity before aesthetics.

Mistake #3: Using Overcomplicated Language

🚫 Too much jargon. If a middle-school kid wouldn’t understand, simplify it.
Fix: Write at a 7th-grade reading level. Simple, clear, relatable.

Mistake #4: Worrying About “The Perfect Strategy”

🚫 Thinking you need a perfect posting schedule, brand colors, fancy edits.
Fix: Post. Post. Post. You’ll find your rhythm through action.

6. Final Rule: Break the Rules (Once You Hit 100 Posts)

Once you hit 100 posts, you’ll have:
A style that feels natural to you
A format that performs well
The ability to tweak and break the “rules” intentionally

At first, follow the formula (Hook → Body → CTA). But once you’ve built skill, experiment, mix things up, and make it your own.

Because by then, you’ll actually know what works.

The Bottom Line: Action > Overthinking

If you’re stuck at zero, post 100 times.

  • You’ll get better.
  • You’ll figure out your style.
  • You’ll start seeing what works.

It’s not about going viral. It’s about getting in the reps and developing real skills.

📌 Your challenge: Start today. Post 100 times. See what happens.
