Step 1: Start with the End in Mind (The Reward)
Before you even think about the hook or how to start your video, you need to know where it’s going.
🔹 What is the reward of this video?
🔹 What is the takeaway for the viewer?
🔹 What will they learn, feel, or gain by the end?
Example:
- Bad Video Idea: “I want to talk about my experience starting a business.” (Too vague.)
- Good Video Idea: “How I made my first $10K as a beginner freelancer in 90 days.” (Clear and valuable.)
If your video doesn’t have a reward, it’s not worth making.
Knowing the end result first makes it easy to structure the entire message.
Step 2: Create a Strong Hook (The First 3-5 Seconds Matter)
Now that you know the reward, you need to create a hook that grabs attention instantly.
A hook is:
✅ A teaser
✅ A curiosity trigger
✅ A promise of value
It tells the viewer:
👉 “This is why you should care.”
Examples of Strong Hooks:
🔹 “I lost 50 lbs WITHOUT dieting. Here’s how.”
🔹 “How I made $10K in 90 days as a beginner freelancer (without ads).”
🔹 “Why most people FAIL at Instagram marketing (and how to fix it).”
Your hook should set expectations so the viewer knows exactly what they’re about to get.
Step 3: Deliver the Value (The Body of the Video)
This is where most people go wrong.
They start rambling, adding too much unnecessary information, and losing people before they ever get to the good part.
🚫 Don’t waste time with backstory.
Instead, stick to a simple structure:
1️⃣ Identify the problem.
2️⃣ Show what didn’t work.
3️⃣ Give the pivotal realization.
4️⃣ Deliver the solution.
Example Breakdown:
Let’s say the video is “How I made $10K in 90 days as a beginner freelancer.”
🔥 Problem: “When I started freelancing, I was broke, had no clients, and didn’t know where to start.”
🔥 What Didn’t Work: “I tried sending 100 cold emails a day, applying to random jobs, and posting on social media—nothing worked.”
🔥 Pivotal Realization: “Then I realized… I was doing it all wrong. Instead of chasing clients, I needed to position myself as the expert.”
🔥 Solution: “I did ONE thing differently—I started sharing my expertise in Facebook groups. That led to inbound leads, and within 90 days, I made my first $10K.”
Boom. Short, clear, and to the point.
Step 4: The Call to Action (What Should They Do Next?)
Most people forget this part.
You must tell your audience what to do next.
Otherwise, they’ll just scroll away.
Your CTA should align with your goal:
📌 Want engagement? “Drop a comment if you want to learn more.”
📌 Want leads? “DM me the word ‘freelance’ and I’ll send you my free guide.”
📌 Want followers? “Follow for more tips on making money online.”
🔥 Example CTA: “Comment ‘10K’ if you want my exact step-by-step strategy.”
That’s it. Simple.
